Clubhouse Android app |
New updates are added at the bottom of this story.......
The original story (published march 06, 2021) is as follows:
Clubhouse recently made headlines in several news outlets. The invited chat app only lets you in and listen to conversations between people directly.
Unlike listening to podcasts, Clubhouse is where you can listen to some of the most influential people in the world or anyone else in this regard without modifications, retaking or texting.
The app is said to have spread dramatically thanks to Elon Musk, who joined a conversation on The Good Time Show, a late-night conversation hosted by Andreessen Horowitz General Partner Sriram Krishnan.
The Space X founder and Tesla CEO also Invited President Putin to Join him in a conversation on the Clubhouse chat app via Twitter. However, Clubhouse has been installed by millions and is growing daily.
This phenomenal growth comes even though the app is only available on iOS. Furthermore, Clubhouse developers have not made any suggestions to us to believe that the app will be available on Android any time soon.
But Android users shouldn't feel neglected. That's because a few other app makers are looking forward to riding the wave created by Clubhouse and we've listed a few below. The most famous is Twitter.
Twitter began experimenting with its new clubhouse competitor "Spaces" at the end of December. Share some details about availability of spaces and features that are tested in a series of Tweets.
Just like Clubhouse, the feature was only available to iOS users. However, Twitter recently announced that the pilot test for rival Clubhouse has been launched for Android users as well.
According to the official tweet Android users will be Able to join and talk in any space immediately. However, there is a big warning right now because people who use Android devices can't host Spaces.
However, all features should soon be available to Android users as well. Although Spaces is not widely used like Clubhouse (for now), they offer practically the same live chat experience.
All you need to start using Spaces is the Twitter app on your Android phone. It can be downloaded through the Google Play Store if you don't already have it installed.
InstaHelo is a dedicated voice chat app available on Android and is an excellent alternative to Clubhouse.
The app lets you join rooms to chat with others or even host your own room to talk about anything that interests you. Moreover, unlike Clubhouse, the app is available to everyone without the need for special codes.
All you need is an Android 7.1 or later smartphone to start using InstaHelo. Of course, you may not find here big names like Elon Musk or Bill Gates but everyone has to start somewhere, right?
InstaHelo is free to use and can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store.
This is not an official app that can be downloaded to the Google Play Store. Instead, you'll have to download the app by downloading an APK file.
The app is more of an alternative solution than a suitable alternative to Clubhouse since it basically deceives Clubhouse to believe that the user is on an iOS device according to the report.
Houseclub was created in one day by a Russian programmer - Grigori. The app source code is available to the public to check for GitHub.
You can also download the APK file for clubhouse alternative on Android by clicking here (version 1.0.8). Do you notice that using this app may block your Clubhouse account.
First update (09 March)
10:45 am (IST): Instagram seems to be testing a Clubhouse-like feature - called "Audio Rooms" - that will allow users to interact with each other in a similar way to Clubhouse.
Developer Alessandro Paluzzi shared screenshots of audio rooms after the app's reverse engineering to enable hidden strings. We've shared a few screenshots below:
Apart from that, there are a few other Clubhouse alternatives at this height that you might want to try. These are Wavve, Spoon, Controversy, and Riffr.
Update 2 (March 11)
12:34 p.m. (IST): As mentioned above, Twitter Spaces can be hosted by a limited group of users at that time. However, a new report from The Verge suggests that Twitter may allow anyone to hose space starting in April.
Until then, iOS and Android users can join existing spaces and interact as usual. It should also be noted that Twitter has not guaranteed that everyone will be able to host Spaces in April, although that's what they aim for.
